I don't know how most of you play your racing games, but I used to only play them default style - exterior chase camera, default automatic transmission settings.

But last week I switched to inside-the-cockpit, full manual transmission (individual buttons for the clutch, to upshift, and to downshift).

Suddenly, the game (Forza Horizon) is a blast. Suddenly, the game feels like a driving simulator, and not a "racing game" with all of it's arcade-y trappings. I feel like I've been reborn in the game and am discovering it for the first time, and I have never enjoyed driving in a video game like I'm enjoying it now.

So I sold all my cars, and I'm starting my garage from scratch with the money. And I want you to do it for me, Oppo.

I have roughly 15 Million credits (dollars) to play with. I'm giving each of you UP TO $100,000 to buy me a car with. The car list, along with prices, is available !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

First come, first served. No duplicates allowed, and cheaper cars encouraged. Build me a garage to enjoy driving, Oppo!

It's super weird for me to go from playing Richard Burns' Rally on my PC with a Logitech Momo to going to Forza 4 with an Xbox 360 controller.

I bet, man. It's soooo much more fun shifting manually. Being able to drop down a gear and power through a corner, or downshift to control my speed better when I don't want to mash the brakes. It just adds so much more complexity and strategy and just....fun, fun agency.

E30 M3 is the only car I currently have, it's what I've been driving around in rediscovering the game.

I upgraded the brakes and a better intake. A healthy 245hp now :)

Silvia S15 for $16000 or Mini Cooper (1965) are both good.

The mini is $4000 more, and slower, but man is it fun to drive in that game. So grippy.

Lotus 2-11. The thing is a BLAST on tarmac.
I have it in Forza 4 and it's awesome!

I have been playing with a wheel, with manual shifting w/clutch since I got Forza 4, and it's awesome.
I never got into Forza Horizon though.

The 22B and the Mini are both my favoruite cars in Forza Horizon. Both have just the right amount of grip, and the 22B offers more power. Also makes great screenshots off road.

Horizon is the first Forza game I've owned. I thought I would like its more arcade-y bits at first, but now I just find the presence of traffic annoying. Still, the physics and sounds are pretty damn great.

I'm having more fun in my E30 M3 manually shifting w/clutch than I was having in Lamborginis and Bugattis in default mode. It's seriously like I'm discovering this game all anew. Now it's actually FUN to drive these cars I fantasize about, because it's WAYYYYYY more like I'm actually driving them.

You're the second 2-11 request. Might have to pull the trigger on it.

Because it's absolutely insane. It's a bit of a handful, but being able to drive it quickly in the Forza series is so rewarding. Also, it looks beautiful.

Try Forza 4. It's like Horizon, but way more technical. It appeals to my Engineering needs, and offers a decent selection of fun cars to hoon and crash and not have to fix.

Also, see if you can kijiji/craiglist an older force feedback 360 wheel and peddles.
I got mine for $30 4 years ago. You will Not regret it.

please don't shoot Focus ST because it makes a great rally car which is fun to take on the golf course and do jumps and I beat a Lamborghini in a stock one (took a lot of short cuts through jumps and grass).

I literally own every car in that game cause i was bored once.

For some reason i just cant do the manual with the clutch in racing games. Maybe its b/c i drive a manual car it just doesnt feel right.

I ended up getting the newer body STi because I couldn't deal with the right-hand drive. I LOVE it though. Even when you think it must be turning too hard to have any grip left to throttle, you can throttle!
